Spanish government weighs into Barcelona defender Pique controversy: Not right!

The Spanish government has weighed into the Supercopa controversy surrounding Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.

Leaked recordings have revealed Pique's company was behind the Supercopa being played in Saudi Arabia last season.

José Manuel Franco Pardo, Secretary of State for Sport, has now commented on the reported recordings.

Pardo told AS: "Apparently there is no illegality in the collection of commissions, but another thing is that a player, also a captain, participates in the business of taking a tournament in which his team competes to another country for commercial purposes.

"That no longer seems reasonable."

It's been reported Pique's company raked in €20m as a commission.
