Spanish football celebrate Real Madrid star Ronaldo rejecting China offer

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is being celebrated in Spain for resisting a world record offer from China.

It's been revealed Ronaldo was offered €150 million-a-year to quit Real for China last summer.

However, the Portuguese resisted the proposal before penning new terms with Real.

AS senior pundit Tomas Roncero wrote: "When Cristiano filled the Bernabéu on 6 July 2009 and shouted, 'One, back, very ... Hala Madrid!', it was clear that the Portuguese was going to be at the club for life.

"The current holder of the Ballon d'Or deserves collective praise for his refusal of the enormous Chinese offer which, from a human point of view, was practically inalienable.

"During the seven years when he wore the white jersey, Cristiano won all possible titles with Madrid; Collectively and individually. His farewell would now leave €300m in the coffers of the Bernabéu . But he did not come to Madrid to make money, he came to make history. And he already wrote it ... he's still doing it.

"Champion, the best is yet to come. How big you are, Cristiano!"
