Leicester City centre-back Caglar Soyuncu says that he never thought about leaving the club.
There was some doubt regarding Soyuncu's future in the summer, especially as Leicester continued to resist bids for Harry Maguire.
But the latter was eventually sold to Manchester United and Soyuncu stepped up in defence next to Jonny Evans.
"When I first arrived I was transferred a little late, I had an injury, and I had to get used to the team," he told Fotomac.
"My first year passed by watching the people in front of me and learning something from them.
"I was never looking elsewhere, I knew that time would come. When our manager changed, [Rodgers] said to me: 'You work well, you will get the jersey when the time comes.'
"I was working well, just focusing on football.
"This season, luck has come. After Maguire was sold this season, our manager said that there would be no new defender and he would give me a chance. I took this chance well, and we performed well as a team.
"I performed well individually, but we were also good as a team. Thank goodness there have been no problems.
"Of course, there was pressure, but I believe that I have overcome it because we've been playing with confidence."
