Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has singled out three youngsters he expects to make a first team impact this season.

He told Boro's website: "Youngsters like Joe Bennett have continued to impress this pre-season and Rhys Williams has had a good pre-season.

"He's a regular in the Welsh U21 squad and being given the captaincy is a sign of maturity for him.

"Martin Scott is looking towards his reserve team and lads who might push towards the first team and Rhys is right in there."
