England U21 manager Gareth Southgate has played down his side's fine 3-2 victory over the Germany U21 side on Monday night.
The Young Lions managed to see off an extremely talented German side in an enthralling encounter at the Riverside Stadium and the victory has certainly excited the England fans.
However, manager Southgate is refusing to get carried away despite the triumph and has reminded everyone that his side have not achieved anything as of yet.
Asked whether he was excited at the victory over Germany, Southgate replied: "Not really. I love working with the group that we have, staff and players, it's a real united body of people. We have got quality and they want to be the best they can be, so they have got a chance.
"But we also know that we are very quick to put people on a pedestal, and we haven't achieved anything yet. We have had some good results, we have had some nice compliments, but we know what our goal is and we know that we are driven to achieve that. We are not interested in too much until we do that."
