Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez has played down talk of an England call next season.

Rodriguez, though, does have ambitions of playing for his country in the future.

He told talkSPORT: "The World Cup is something to look forward to [for me] but I think I'll try and keep my head down. I can only concentrate on my own form and work hard because I need to improve a lot.

"International football is a different level but it'd be a great feeling to go and represent your country.

"It's something to work to and hopefully I can get a sniff but I'll just have to wait and see how the season goes."
