Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez remains a target for Premier League rivals as he recovers from knee surgery.

The Sunday Express says Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City are still willing to battle it out to secure the signature of Rodriguez during the winter transfer window, despite the 25-year-old suffering a setback in his recovery from injury.

Rodriguez has been out of action after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury during Southampton's match against Manchester City last April.

Southampton rejected a £16million offer from Spurs during the summer and Ronald Koeman is working hard to keep the star striker at St Mary's.

They are keen for Rodriguez to sign a new contract at St Mary's considering he only has a year left on his current deal.
