Southampton stopped in pursuit of Leeds defender Jansson

The agent of Leeds United star Pontus Jansson has claimed that his client is attracting a lot of interest from other clubs, however, he added that the Swedish international will not leave the Whites.

Jansson has been in fine form this season and he has helped his club remain in contention for a place in the Championship play-off places.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Southampton this month, with the Saints viewing him as a potential replacement for Virgil Van Dijk who joined Liverpool earlier this month.

Jansson's agent Martin Dahlin has confirmed that there is indeed interest in the player but added that he will not leave.

"Interest in Pontus is great," Dahlin told Swedish outlet Fotbollskanale.

"But he is fully focused on taking Leeds up in the Premier League

"I have no other comments on this."
