Nurnberg winger Guido Burgstaller is being watched by Southampton.

The Daily Mail says Saints scout Bill Green watched the former Cardiff City forward during Nurnberg's 3-0 win at FSV Frankfurt on Sunday.

Southampton were also represented as the 26-year-old played for Austria in their 2-1 defeat against Turkey last week.

Burgstaller has impressed this season, scoring 11 goals in 27 games for Nurnberg in the German second division and has one year left on contract.
