Southampton are pushing hard today to sign Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes.

Saints have had another offer rejected by Spartak in the last 24 hours, but will try again today as the transfer deadline looms.

Southampton bid €28m yesterday, but it fell short of Spartak's €34m assessment.

The Premier League outfit are expected to make an improved offer in the coming hours, with Promes in excellent form for Spartak this season.

The Holland international has scored 15 goals in 25 games for the Russian Premier League club.
