Southampton have made a new offer for Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong.
The Daily Mail says Saints made an improved bid on Wednesday of £10m plus players, in an effort to land the former England under-21 striker and add firepower to their front line amid Danny Ings rumours.
Rovers rejected an opening offer for the former Newcastle United attacker, who scored 28 goals in 40 Championship games last season, and have set their stall out at around £20million.
The 24-year-old only has one year remaining on his current deal but the Magpies have a sell-on clause thought to be around 40 per cent, meaning his current club need to see a higher fee to reap the rewards.
