Southampton haven't dropped their pursuit of AS Monaco striker Guido Carrillo.

Saints have been tracking the Argentine since before Christmas and Sky Sports says talks have intensified this week.

Indeed, Saints officials held a lengthy round of negotiations through yesterday in an effort to close a deal.

Carrillo, 26, has scored four goals from two starts in Ligue 1 this season.

Southampton have offered €19m for Carrillo, but ASM are demanding they go higher.
