Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is chasing Celtic striker Gary Hooper.

The Daily Mail says Adkins was Hooper's boss during the Essex-born striker's time at Scunthorpe United and sold him to the SPL giants.

Hooper would now cost significantly more than the £175,000 he shelled out for the 24-year-old when he bought him from Hereford in January 2008.
