Southampton confident over deal for Blackburn striker Armstrong

Southampton believe they can come to an agreement with Blackburn Rovers to sign Adam Armstrong.

Football League World reports the Saints have a very serious interest in the forward who has lit up the Championship in the past year.

The source claims that Southampton believe a fee of roughly £10 million plus add-ons should convince Blackburn to sell.

Blackburn are seeking roughly £20 million, but Southampton could attempt to reach that figure using bonuses and instalments.

Armstrong netted 28 league goals last term, finishing second behind Ivan Toney in the Golden Boot race in the Championship.
