Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino insists he hasn't signed Pablo Daniel Osvaldo to replace Ricki Lambert.
Pochettino insists the pair can play together.
The manager said: "Rickie has shown time and again he's a very important player for us.
"He welcomes the fact Osvaldo is here as it is going to help him raise his game. They could find it very easy to play together."
Osvaldo has been sent off SIX times in the last three years and banned for punching Roma teammate Erik Lamela.
But Pochettino said: "He has matured. He has grown, he has progressed. He is much more rounded."
