Southampton boss Ronald Koeman won't rush Jay Rodriguez's playing return.

Rodriguez recently underwent a minor clean out operation that means he is still expected to be a few weeks away from a return but Koeman is not setting any timescale on it.

"He had to make a step back about his knee and I think it's not good to put him on a date when he has to come back," said Koeman.

"He needs time to come back in a good shape and we have to wait for it so I don't say anything about what date or it take longer.

"It's up to the medical staff and the player himself."
