Southampton boss Nigel Adkins expects to be active in the January market.

Adkins remained coy on the severity of Adam Lallana's knee injury and would not be drawn on the possibility of cover for the midfielder being brought in this January.

"He's not going to play against Stoke and that is all we're going to talk about," Adkins said.

"We are not going to speculate about anybody. It is fair to say in January, all teams will be open for business."
