Paulo Sousa is driving Bordeaux's move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

Off contract in June, Giroud is in talks about a return to Ligue 1 at the end of the season.

Olympique Lyon and Olympique Marseille are both in contact with Giroud's minders, while Bordeaux made an approach this week.

The move is being driven by Sousa, who has big ambitions for next season.

The Portuguese stepped in at Bordeaux last month after a difficult campaign which has seen both Gus Poyet and Ricardo Gomes sacked.
