Former Liverpool and Rangers boss Graeme Souness says Roberto di Matteo deserves consideration for the fulltime Chelsea job.
Souness wrote in the Daily Star Sunday: "He's the interim boss, stepping up from being assistant to the sacked Andre Villas-Boas. And he's doing the job better than AVB was.
"Di Matteo is handling the experienced players, whereas Villas-Boas alienated them.
"And he is getting his tactics right - as we saw in Lisbon last Tuesday night, when Chelsea gained a vital 1-0 win against Benfica in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final."
