Stoke City legend Mark Chamberlain admits he's happy with the progress of teenage son Alexander at Southampton.

Alexander is progressing nicely through the ranks at Southampton and, word has it, is every bit as good as Theo Walcott at the same age.

"He's a centre midfielder really," proud dad Mark told The Sentinel, "because I told him not to be a winger, because we always get the blame for everything.

"He's 16 and has just taken up his scholarship, but he's already played reserve games and is training with the first team at Southampton. He'll be better than me, hopefully."
