Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes his lone role up front has led to his brilliant form this season.
The 24-year old has scored now 30 goals in all competitions this season after a brace against AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night and has cited the fact he has been in and around the box far more this season as the reason for his prolific term thus far.
"I think I have been in the box a lot more and working on my timing and finishing," he said on Sky Sports News.
"I have played up front in every game I have played this season and that has helped me score a lot of goals.
"When you are the lone striker you have to play up the pitch because you are the focal point of your team."
