Sporting CP captain Bruno Fernandes is jetting to Manchester today.
The Mirror says Fernandes will undergo a medical at Manchester United's AON Training Complex before putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal to complete his switch from Sporting Lisbon.
United will pay an initial £46.6million, with two further add-on payments of £8.5m and £12.7m due on completion of certain clauses.
That could see the total package United pay for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder reach £67.8m.
Fernandes is likely to complete his move on Wednesday, with the relevant paperwork submitted to enable him to make his United debut against Wolves at Old Trafford on Saturday.
United always felt Sporting – who initially wanted £67m up front for Fernandes - would yield to a lower fee because of financial constraints at the club, and so it proved.
Sporting were forced to lower their demands and accept a lower initial fee for Fernandes, with United happy with the structured add-ons.
