Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has welcomed new signing Memphis Depay.

The striker's move from Barcelona was confirmed this morning, with the Dutchman signing to 2025.

Depay arrives to replace Joao Felix after his loan move to Chelsea and Simeone said: "A player arrives with a lot of enthusiasm, wanting to recover his best version.

"We will work so that we can see the Lyon footballer, there he demonstrated all his physical strength and his abilities. We will work with him to bring him to his best form so that he can give us back what we seek from him.

"He's a striker who can play first striker or second striker. I see him similar to Costa, a striker who started as second point, on the outside, but ended up on top because he is explosive, strong, defines well...
