Simeone hails Vietto influence for Atletico Madrid win

Atletico Madrid hammered Deportivo La Coruna 3-0 on Sunday.

Midfielder Saul Niguez headed Atletico into a half-time lead and Antoine Griezmann eased them further ahead in the second period before Angel Correa added a late third. Deportivo's winless league run was extended to 13 matches.

Barcelona had earlier extended their advantage at the top to 11 points by thrashing Getafe 6-0 at Camp Nou in a 3pm kick-off, while third-placed Real Madrid will bid to keep in touch with the top two at Getafe on Sunday.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone said: "The important thing is that the goals come from different parts of the field.

"The presence of (Luciano) Vietto allows us to have more threats in the game.

"We have people arriving well from the second line, like Saul and Koke. And Griezmann is still in the line also."
