Sigurdsson's move to Swansea will still go ahead - Jenkins

Gylfi Sigurdsson's permanent transfer from Hoffenheim to Swansea City will still go ahead according to chairman Huw Jenkins.

The 22-year old Iceland midfielder is set to join the Swans on a club record transfer after starring on loan last season but some doubt was cast on the move when manager Brendan Rodgers left to take the Liverpool job.

But Jenkins has assured Swansea fans that Sigurdsson will become a permanent member of the Welsh club as soon as he returns from holiday.

"We have agreed a fee and personal terms but the problem is he has gone away to Europe on holiday and that has delayed the finalising of it," he told Sky Sports News.

"We are hopeful of getting things moving next week, hopefully we can tie that up and get one or two things finished off."
