Siena striker Massimo Maccarone is ignoring transfer speculation linking him with Sampdoria.

Maccarone is likely to leave Siena should they be relegated this season.

His spokesman, however, said: "I have still not faced the question with Siena's President for the simple reason that Massimo has asked me to wait until May.

"I have tried asking him what his intentions are, but he told me that he now only wants to think about finishing the season in the best of ways with the Siena shirt.

"It's an attitude that denotes his great professionalism and the attachment he feels towards the city.

"Massimo is in love with Siena and for now he has no intention of thinking about anything else."
