Liverpool are ready to allow winger Jimmy Ryan to sign permanently with Shrewsbury.

The former Academy midfielder has made a big impression for Gary Peters side since he joined the club on loan in August, and the Shrews have an agreement to make his transfer permanent when the transfer window reopens.

"Because Jimmy came on a temporary loan, you can only have 93 days playing for a club," said Peters. "He will be on loan for another month and after that, he can play in our reserves but not the first team.

"Technically he won't be our player until 1 January, where he can then play first-team football indefinitely."
