Sheikh winds back Man City takeover plans

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is readjusting his takeover plans for Manchester City.

The People says in a sensational twist the wealthy Abu Dhabi bidder is looking to take just 75 per cent of City rather than the original 90 per cent proposed by his team.

The Arabs are disturbed by the size of debts Shinawatra has run up - with estimates the Thai has clocked up bills of around £140million - and their search of the books has altered the deal.

Now the Sheikh and his team are proposing to pay Shinawatra a lot less cash in the latest dramatic twist at 'Middle' Eastlands...and they will settle for a majority but not near-overall control.
