Sheffield Utd owner Prince Abdullah selling up at Chateauroux

Prince Abdullah, the owner of Sheffield United, is set to sell his shares in a sister team.

The Blades owner is also the head of the United World portfolio of clubs, which includes teams in France, Belgium and UAE.

While previous takeover bids by American Henry Mauriss and Nigerian Dozy Mmobuosi did not succeed, Prince Abdullah is going down another route.

Per L'Equipe, he has agreed to sell Châteauroux to French businessman Benjamin Gufflet's Stratton Oakmont Sports holding company.

According to La Nouvelle République, Châteauroux have a meeting with the DNCG in France regarding their finances.

The report added: "The Saudis, who arrived in Châteauroux with great ambitions, left without having achieved their objectives, the club having been closer to a sporting and financial bankruptcy rather than a return to Ligue 2."
