Sheffield Utd boss Wilder blasts jeering Luton fans

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder was unimpressed by Luton fans jeering Rhys Norrington-Davies after he suffered an injury early into yesterday's win.

Norrington-Davies, who has history with Luton, had only just returned from a 14 month lay-off.

Wilder said, "If they knew the story, any normal human being that loves their football maybe didn't realise that the boy's been out for over a year, with what could have been a career-ending injury. He's had to overcome that, away from the lights.

"They've had it with Tom (Lockyer). It's a different scenario, I'm not comparing the two or putting this and that one together. Tom's story was one that touched everybody and everybody is desperate for him to get back playing. Al's worked with him with the Wales squad, and so has Jack Lester.

"We're not comparing anything but the boy's been out for over a year. First of all he's got himself back to being a professional footballer. Second, he's got himself back on the grass and third, he's got himself back in the team. He's just looking for a little bit of luck to get his career back up and running. It's a huge setback for him and us. We'll assess it when we get back to Sheffield."
