Sheffield United extend stay of Beattie

James Beattie has had his contract with Sheffield United extended until the end of the season.

The 33-year old former Southampton, Everton and Stoke City striker joined the Blades in November but has managed just seven sub appearances under Danny Wilson.

However, Wilson says the club are prepared to keep Beattie on as they chase promotion to the Championship.

"He's a quality player. We're delighted to have him for what he brings us on and off the pitch,” he told the club’s official website.
