Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross feels he can play for England as a Potters player.
Shawcross, 24 on Wednesday, admits he has a personal reason to do well at Swansea on Sunday afternoon, with the England squad announcement to face Montenegro on Friday coming later the same evening.
"Playing for England is in the back of my mind. Every player wants to play for their country and I'm no different," said Shawcross.
"I'm not going to lose sleep about it but, if I can do well and keep improving for Stoke, maybe my chance will come."
