Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that left-back Luke Shaw's recovery from injury is going as planned.

The 20-year-old, who suffered a horror double-leg break in September, has recently resumed outdoor training as he strives to reach full fitness before the end of the season.

Van Gaal told MUTV: "He's very positive, he's doing great.

"He's training with the physiotherapist but he has to train with the football coach and that hasn't happened yet."
