Shanghai Shenhua want Didier Drogba to join his ex-Chelsea teammate Nicolas Anelka in China. The Mirror says the Chinese club are proposing an incredible two-and-a half-year basic package, plus image rights, goal bonuses and success incentives that would make the striker one of the best paid players in the world.

The 33-year-old could earn in excess of £300,000-a-week and mega-rich Shenhua are putting pressure on him to sign a pre-contract agreement - as he is out of contract in the summer, he's now free to talk to non-English clubs.

Ivory Coast star Drogba, currently away on Africa Cup of Nations duty, is ready to see out the remaining six months of his contract at Chelsea, despite huge interest from other clubs.
