Seville winger Yevhen Konoplyanka has explained why he chose Spain ahead of offers from England.

Liverpool and Tottenham were both chasing the Ukraine international before he committed to Sevilla.

The former Dnipro star revealed: "If I was 2.5 meters tall and could not control a ball, I might have gone to England, but here (in Spain), football is more technical.

"It's the best. I do not regret that I came to Spain.

"Some offers came from the Premier League and Sevilla and Atletico Madrid from Spain, but I felt that Seville was right for me."
