Sevilla president Del Nido Carrasco moves to ease doubts over Man Utd midfielder Hannibal

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco has reiterated his support for loan star Hannibal Mjebri.

The Manchester United youth product came under fire from the Sevilla coach earlier for behavior in training.

However, he was subsequently selected for a matchday squad, while Carrasco insists there are no issues.

"He [Hannibal] has to know where he is and we want to see him," Sevilla's manager Quique Sanchez Flores explained.

"We have spoken with him and we believe that he has to have some time to learn, we wanted to give him space, time for him to see things from the outside and then he will return to the squad… You should take a step to understand what we want. Let's see if the boy applies himself and I think that in the end, he will understand perfectly what we want."

Now Carrasco has countered, telling Sevilla's ABC, "I think things have been blown out of proportion a little. We are very excited about Hannibal.

"The sports management chose him, he is one of the signings from the January window that excites us the most and we are convinced that Hannibal is going to make it at Sevilla. I feel like everything has its processes.

"He's only been here a couple of weeks, it's a new country, a new culture, a new city, a different way of training, a different coaching style. We are super excited about Hannibal and convinced he is going to play a lot and break through here at our club."
