Sevilla midfielder Suso admits their thrashing of Almeria came as a relief.

Sevilla thumped Almeria 5-1 last night, having gone into the game with coach Jose Luis Mendilibar under pressure after a poor start to the season.

Suso later reflected: "The best game of this season. The Girona game was similar but today we scored the first two goals very quickly and that gave us peace of mind and confidence. We were able to enjoy the game, which we had not been able to do this season.

"We attacked, we came out well, the goals came quickly and they gave us the confidence that was lacking in other games.

"In the first half I felt comfortable and in the first half I was able to shoot. In the second we needed more control to avoid counterattacks, but we can be happy."

He added, "A game like this was necessary for tranquility and confidence."
