Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan admits the club "is a mess" after their Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
Sevilla lost 4-1 last night with coach Julen Lopetegui being sacked in the aftermath.
Jordan said: "We had some clear chances to score, [but] we didn't and in the first half they did us a lot of damage in situations where we know they're good. We can't commit those kinds of errors. In the second half we stood up. We said, 'At least we have to compete'.
"The situation is a mess. That is the reality, but what we have to look at ourselves. On Saturday [against Athletic] we have an important match. I'm convinced we're going to pick ourselves up. We've had tough weeks, a difficult situation both on a sporting level, which is important, and on a personal level.
“The minimum we have to do is compete in every game like it is our last one … the fans are incredible, they are demanding but we like this – it's what we want. We're in Sevilla and when they're demanding [things] and are angry it's probably because they are right."
