Sevilla fought off a late bid from PSG for Steven N'Zonzi on Thursday.

France Football says the coach of the Ligue 1 big spenders, Unai Emery, worked with the midfielder in Andalusia and represented one of many clubs interested in a deal as the player and his agent sought an exit to England or ltaly.

PSG were considering a bid but Financial Fair Play fears paralysed their movements late in the window, forcing them into a compromised deal for Kylian Mbappe and ending hopes of meeting N'Zonzi's release clause.

Any deal to take the Frenchman away from Sevilla has been restricted by the LaLiga outfit as they continue to demand the full 40 million euro buy-out clause be paid for one of their key men.
