Sevilla chief Victor Orta has urged fans to be patient with coach Diego Alonso.
Orta cited the example of Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen for why fans need to get behind the Uruguayan.
He said, "Of his (Xabi's) first seven matches he won one, and with a little patience, he is working. There is always a process with coaching changes mid-season, especially with European competition.
"Everyone is working hard to achieve victory and we are very confident, because he gives us signs with his work that the victories are going to come. I'm sure. I tell the Sevilla fans to be patient and to be calm, because he is working very well and analyzing his rivals very well.
"He works on improving, trying to adapt the coach's mechanisms.
"There is a good squad and patience can pay off. I know that the club lives in a continuous catharsis, but there are times when being calm is the only way to achieve results. We cannot always be with that tension so that everything blows up. I am sure that this squad will achieve results,"
