Sevilla chief Monchi has defended Ever Banega over his commitment to Al Shabab.

Banega, off contract in June, will play out the season before leaving for the Middle East.

Monchi insisted: "His behavior did not disappoint, even to me. I hope that the players are clear in the future and as direct as he was.

"I am interested that he will give us a hand from here to the end of the season. We had two options on the table and we decided, but at no time Ever asked us to hide the news of his farewell at the end of the season.

"His contract will expire on June 30th and I am sure he will be 100% motivated until then."
