Villarreal coach Quique Setien was left disappointed after their dismal defeat at Elche on Saturday.
The Yellows did not have their best afternoon in Elche. Setién's side conceded three goals to Pere Milla, two of them from the penalty spot. Gerard's goal was not enough to get any points for the Submarine.
Setien said, "We conceded a goal before half-time and then another one just after the break. This killed us. We made mistakes and it made us lose confidence. We were unable to recover from this. We deserved to lose, because today we struggled to do things well."
Setién also underlined the need with which Elche came into the game, and that his team made it easy for them: “They were in need of a win. We knew that and we tried to make sure it didn't happen.
"We couldn't and that's the result and the consequences of not doing things right. We made it easy for them to beat us."
