Sergio Ramos is demanding a huge pay-hike to stay with Real Madrid. The defender is locked in new contract talks with Real and demanding he become the second highest paid at the club behind Cristiano Ronaldo, says Madrid-Barcelona.com.
Ramos is currently on €5.5 million-a-year and is unhappy seeing Gareth Bale (on a salary of €11 million), James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos (€6 million) arrive on bigger terms. Even striker Karim Benzema has seen his deal upgraded to €8 million-a-year.
Ramos feels undervalued and underpaid and is demanding a hefty pay-rise to sit him only behind €18 million-a-year Ronaldo on the Real pay-scale.
This is in stark contrast to claims from former Real GM Arrigo Sacchi, who says Ramos has told him the club are demanding he accept a pay-CUT to stay.
