Clarence Seedorf says his heart convinced him to sign a new deal with AC Milan.
The Dutchman's previous contract with the Rossoneri was set to expire this summer, but he eventually decided to accept a 12-month extension.
"I didn't ask for anything," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "I didn't meet with boss Massimiliano Allegri and yet I signed anyway.
"I just wanted to stay here.
"I was given no guarantees. After all, after 900 games in my career, what could I possibly have asked Allegri?
"My heart told me to stay in order to win the Scudetto and the Champions League."
