Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid says Clint Dempsey won't start against New York Red Bulls.

The former Tottenham striker could still make the bench, however.

"We kept him inside today, just one more day and he'll be out tomorrow," Schmid said. "He did more yesterday, felt better and is doing more today.

"I think there's still a possibility of him being in the 18. At this stage, starting probably not, but we have to see how he is."
