Clint Dempsey has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 6 of the 2014 season.
The Seattle Sounders ace, who took out the Week 5 award for his hat-trick against Portland Timbers, again won the vote from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for his match-winning brace in the 3-2 in over FC Dallas.
The former Fulham and Tottenham midfielder cancelled out David Texeira's 10th-minute opener at Toyota Stadium with a stunning free-kick in the 22nd minute before Dallas regained the lead when Michel converted from the penalty spot just before the break.
An own-goal from Stephen Keel drew the Sounders level on 75 minutes prior to Dempsey's eventual winner, which came from close range, five minutes from regular time.
The consecutive player of the week prize for Dempsey is the first time a Sounders player has landed back-to-back weekly awards since Fredy Montero in Week 1 and 2 of the 2009 season.
