Seattle Sounders sporting director Chris Henderson says the club will make a decision on Mario Martinez in the next few days.
The 23-year old Honduran midfielders loan from Real Espana is up shortly but a return is not yet 100% sorted as the Sounders try to work their way around the cost of another short-term spell.
"Mario, that'll be a player that we're negotiating with now," Henderson said.
"A decision will be made in the next five days with him. And I think those are ongoing negotiations, so we'll have a decision shortly on him."
He added: "Mario, his agent, the club and the Sounders. I think everyone's kind of involved in it. It's his future, and obviously when people loan a player, then they're involved. So we'll know more in the next few days."
