Seattle's Ljungberg backs former Arsenal youth star Zakuani after horror miss

Seattle Sounders midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has backed teammate Steve Zakuani after he missed a tap in from three yards on Sunday night.

The Zaire forward and former Arsenal youth academy player was unable to make the most of a pass from Ljungberg in the Sounders 1-1 draw against Houston Dynamo but the Swede did not blame him for his miss.

"If you give him 99 more balls he would have scored every single one of them," Ljungberg said.

"It's just something that happens to every player. It's happened to me and I'm sure it's happened to everyone else in their careers."
