Seaman to Man City keeper Claudio Bravo - ‘Welcome to the Premier League’

David Seaman feels Claudio Bravo escaped a potentially disastrous Premier League debut on Saturday.

The Chilean goalkeeper, who joined Manchester City from Barcelona in the summer, had a couple of suspect moments during the Manchester derby against United at Old Trafford.

Bravo gifted Zlatan Ibrahimovic United's only goal of the game before being lucky to avoid a red card when bringing down Wayne Rooney in the second half of City's eventual 2-1 win, prompting the following response from Seaman.

"He was very nervous. It was his debut and it was in a Manchester derby - good luck," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"He got away with it in a way because they still won, but he will get better than that. His distribution is fantastic but people think Joe's was bad and it wasn't.

"With Bravo - welcome to the Premier League. This is what it is like and it takes some getting used to.

"He has great ball control, but first of all you have to be able to save shots and deal with the aspects of goalkeeping, so that's what he has to do first."
