Scunthorpe go in-house for new manager Baraclough

Scunthorpe have confirmed Ian Baraclough as their new manager. The 39-year-old former first-team coach had been in temporary charge for the last three games since the departure of Nigel Adkins and Andy Crosby to Southampton.

Baraclough's first match in permanent charge will be at home to Ipswich on Saturday with goalkeeping coach Kevin Pressman appointed as assistant manager.

Chairman Steve Wharton told the club's official website,: "He is an exceptionally nice person who I had pencilled in as a prospective manager some two years ago.

"I and my board of directors will do our utmost to give Ian all the support he needs to continue and build upon our recent successes."
